The author was personal assistant to Gene LaCroix Jr. at Lasma Arabians, later managed Make Believe Farms where she promoted breeding operations of the stallions Padron, Salon and Tamerlan. She also managed Nicasio Valley Arabians and the early career of Bask grandson Bey Shah
