This book is the history of the famed Kellogg Arabian Horse Ranch with many amazing stories involved with the gathering of this important group of Arabian Horses. The book begins with a foreword by Gladys Brown Edwards who had worked at Kelloggs from 1933 to 1945 and recalls much of those early days. Fascinating reading.
Beginning in 1924 Mr. Kellogg reminiscing about at trip he took to Palm Springs to visit Mr. Clarke Arabian Ranch. Mr. Kellogg was impressed with the ranch as well as the German man in charge of the horses, Carl Schmidt, who came to work for Kellogg and had a very significant of impact on future Arabian horse dealings. This book reveals the elusive facts regarding the”Raswan Affair”, the actual circumstances surrounding the death of the stallion named Raswan and reveals the reason Carl Schmidt took “Raswan” as his surname. Carl Raswan became a noted Arabian Horse author. Just one of the many fascinating stories in this book.
The text also shares letters from Lady Wentworth, interestingly, Skowronek had once been offered for sale to Kellogg.
Many famous people visited the ranch and were photographed with famous Arabians. These include: BUFFALO BILL, RUDOLPH VALENTINO; MISS CLARA BOW; GARY COOPER; WILL ROGERS; TIM McCOY; KEN MAYNARD; MARLENE DIETRICH and many more.

Published by the Arabian Horse Association of Southern California copyright 1975 and is the second printing. This large, heavy book is a must have addition to any Arabian horse library
