Theses collectible books are a fascinating connection to the history of the Arabian Horse in North America.
If you're not familiar with these books you need to be. Published for 30 years (1953-1982), they include information about horses, shows, and clubs and associations for each year.
This one starts off with a list of North American member associations of the I.A.H.A. and an index of shows. Then comes over 157 pages of photos, showing hundreds of horses including Synbad, Fadjur, Radamson, Dunes, Ibn Hanrah, Witezar, Yatez, Serafix, Ronteza ridden by Sheila Varian, Rose of Raswan Chloette, and more. You will also find the get of Sureyn, Witez II, Indraff, Fadjur, Ferneyn, Raffles, and other greats from the past. The text accompanying each photo varies but typically includes name, registration number, sire and dam, show honors, owners, and stable location. Following the photos is a summary of show information, giving the host association, name, date, and location of the show, judges, champion and reserve champion of each gender, and then individual class information (name of class, number of entries, and top five places). Then there is an index to the horses, and finally a list of exhibitors and associate members of the I.A.H.A.
These books are quality publications, printed on glossy stock.
