His interest in the breed centered on their usefulness, endurance, and ability to improve other breeds. In this book he traces their history from Arabia to the New World and gives an interesting account of the horses brought to America by the early explorers as well as the influence of later imports on early breeders in the US. It is fascinating and informative reading and is full of wonderful old photos including some of the early imports from Spain. Hard cover in good condition some shelf wear and wear to the top of the spine. This book took a hard drop which dinged the top front cover board and top and bottom of the back board, inside pages also dinged, this does not affect usability of the book, inside pages clean and unmarked, gold lettering on cover and spine is still bright, binding strong, copyright 1941, 1st edition, 176 pages.
